

Eugenia Olesnicky, Ph.D.

Dr. Eugenia Olesnicky joined the UCCS faculty in August 2011 in the Department of Biology.
Dr. Olesnicky earned her BA in Biology from Drew University in 2002, as well as an MS (2004) and PhD (2006) in Developmental Genetics from New York University. Dr. Olesnicky completed two postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and Princeton University prior to joining UCCS.
Dr. Olesnicky has led a successful research program that investigates the genetic underpinnings of neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders. Her dedication to research and mentoring have been recognized through multiple federal grants from the National Institutes of Health and National Science Foundation, the LAS Research Award and UCCS Outstanding Mentor Award.
In her role as Associate Dean of the College of Letters Arts & Sciences (LAS), Dr. Olesnicky is committed to fostering a vibrant research and creative works community, championing the scholarly needs of faculty and students, and supporting faculty through various programs including seed grants, travel and publication awards, and the LAS research highlights podcast. Her data driven approach also informs her work on College and Campus-level policies and budgetary matters.
