  • Career Center

The Career Center is dedicated to providing quality education, information, and event opportunities to increase the likelihood of student and alumni success in the job market. Additionally, we are committed to maintaining and exploring partnerships with potential employers through various programs and outreach opportunities. Grounded in the tenets of career services as detailed by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), the Career Center strives to be the active resource for students and alumni who are pursuing their major and career aspirations. • The Languages and Social Sciences Center

The mission of the Excel Languages Center is to empower student success through collaborative learning, individualized tutoring, leadership development, and meaningful dialogues.

The Excel Languages Center (located in Dwire Hall 270) provides a supportive environment focused on academic achievement, language skills development, the celebration of cultural diversity, and an inclusive space that builds community. We administer foreign language diagnostic proficiency testing for MAPS requirements and assist with appropriate course sequence placement.

Our language conversation tables provide a fun and peer-guided space for students, faculty, staff, and community members to come together and practice a language of interest while engaging in meaningful dialogues and cultural exchange.

  • The Math Center

The Math Center is your space to study on your own, work with friends, get help from a tutor, or just hang out between classes. We offer walk-in tutoring any time we're open (see the schedule below). You're also welcome to use our computers, which have a variety of math and engineering software installed on them. The Math Center also offers peer-assisted study sessions for just about every math class, as well as for a small number of computer science and engineering classes. Check out the schedule on the Peer-Assisted Study Sessions information page. We're here for you, so please stop by and let us know what we can do to help you get the most out of your math, statistics, and engineering classes.

  • The Science Center

We help all students excel! If you take lower-level courses in Chemistry, Physics, or Biology, the Science Center offers free, unlimited drop-in tutoring, dedicated space for lower-level chemistry and biology students, computers, and other resources to help you do well. We even help with many upper-level classes as well--ask us about specific courses. Learn more about our caring and knowledgeable staff. Even if you don't need tutoring, the Center is a great place to meet friends, study, eat your lunch, and just relax. Come visit us.

  • The Writing Center

Writing is an essential skill to develop throughout your life, regardless of your career path or professional interests. Our goal at the Excel Writing Center is to help you become a stronger writer through practice, revision, and critical thinking.

We are NOT a drop-off or editing service, but we would be more than happy to collaborate with you to strengthen your writing skills.

The Writing Center helps students from all classes and majors across the University. We do accept walk-ins, but you are not guaranteed an appointment with a consultant unless you have signed up online. Additionally, we stop accepting walk-ins 30 minutes before we close for the day, so plan ahead! The Writing Center is also a great place to study. We have plenty of computers, a printer, and free coffee & tea.
