Communication: Digital Filmmaking majors study film as visual language, learning the principles and techniques of film-making and gaining practical experience in planning, shooting, lighting, editing, and sound mixing short video productions.
Focus of Study
The Bachelor of Innovation™ (BI) in Communication – Digital Filmmaking is a cross-disciplinary degree that combines filmmaking, engineering and business. A cross-college collaboration between the Department of Communications in the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, the College of Engineering and the College of Business, this cutting-edge curriculum combines academic studies, technical skills and professional training to prepare students for a variety of careers in the film and television industry.
Students develop comprehensive skills in film and television creation through hands-on production courses as well as develop valuable breadth in other arts disciplines, business and creative entrepreneurship.
Moreover, these communication degree students will participate in several high-level collaborative projects, and internships and produce professional work that will give them a distinct advantage in launching careers in the competitive and changing world of the film and television industries.
